Hello crafty friends!
Welcome to Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Sunny Days Ahead Release Blog Hop! If you arrived here from talented Karin Äkesdotter’s blog you are on the right track! Sadly my parcel hasn’t arrived yet so I will share my Mother’s Day cards using previous released (and my favourite) products with you today. I hope it will arrive soon!
For my first card, I used the Botanical Heart stamp set & the Script Mom die.
I stamped large sized flower image from the Botanical Heart set onto watercolour paper panel with Faded Jeans Distress ink.
As many of you already know, Distress inks react with water so I just freely brushed part of stamped image with water brush as shown in the picture.
I painted my flowers with Faded Jean Distress ink as my main colour, then added Crushed Olive, Fossilized Amber and Mowed Lawn Distress inks.
For the sentiment, I used the Script Mom die & the Tiny Words Encouragement stamp set.
I love this “artsy style” so much!! :D
Here is another Mother’s Day card, I used the Floral Mom Frame die & the Love Friendship stamp set.
I die cut the Floral Mom Frame from watercolour paper first, and then lightly inked on the flowers & leaves with some Distress inks:
Flowers: Festive Berries, Fossilized Amber, Seedless Preserves
Leaves: Crushed Olive, Mowed Lawn
I decorated the part of the word “MOM” with PPP Valentine Jewels.
Here is a closer look:
I will make & share my cards with brand new Sunny Days Ahead products soon!

I’ve used Distress Inks for no-line water coloring, but never have I used them in this manner as on the first card. Your card is stunning and I definitely will try this. The second card is equally beautiful and these cards encourage me to use my distress Inks more. They are still favorites in my craft room! :)
