Altenew Build-A-Flower: Coneflower Release Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends!
Welcome to the Altenew Build-A-Flower: Coneflower Release Blog Hop. I’m so happy to be a part of this amazing blog hop! If you arrived here from Agnieszka Małyszek’s blog you are on the right track!

Extend a hand in gratitude and friendship with this delightful floral layering set. This stamp set features two beautiful layering coneflowers. For ease of use, we have included two coloring layers for each part of the flower: the flower center, petals and leaves, and stem. The larger flower has three color layers for the petals.

The Build-A-Flower: Coneflower special edition stamp and die set is only sold as a bundle. It includes one 6″ x 8″ clear photopolymer stamp set (24 individual stamp images) and one coordinating die set (2 dies).

I stamped layering Coneflowers onto white cardstock using several dye inks. I just wanted to make (kind of) no-line stamped flowers so I stamped outlined flowers using Sand Dunes first. I then chose reddish-pink and yellow for my main color scheme.
Pink flower: (light to dark) Frosty Pink, Coral Berry and Grapevine
Yellow flower: Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee
Stamen: Rocky Shore and Espresso
Leaves: Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades.

For the sentiment, I stamped it on kraft cardstock using Jet Black dye ink, then trimmed it using small oval tag in the Handmade Tags die set.

Altenew Build-A-Flower Bellaroma Hybrid Tea Rose Release Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends!
Welcome to the Altenew Build-A-Flower: Bellaroma Hybrid Tea Rose Release Blog Hop. I’m really happy to be a part of this amazing blog hop! If you arrived here from Dana Joy’s blog you are on the right track!

This month’s Altenew Build-A-Flower set features a gorgeous Bellaroma Hybrid Tea Rose. This special edition stamp and die set is only sold as a bundle. It includes one 6″ x 8″ clear photopolymer stamp set (19 individual stamp images) and one coordinating die set (2 dies).

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Bellaroma Hybrid Tea Rose
Enjoy new beginnings with these gorgeous, distinctive florals. This set has one flower with four layers and a cluster of three leaves with three layers. What makes this stamp special is that the layers are created in such a way that they can be used to give contrasting colors to the flower, or you can choose to layer them with shades of the same color. Use your imagination as you try out different ink color combinations with the Bellaroma Hybrid Tea Rose.

I started by stamping beautiful outlined roses from the Bellaroma Hybrid Tea Rose set onto smooth white cardstock using Mocha dye ink. I then coloured the stamped roses with Coral Berry & Cotton Candy alcohol markers – I coloured the edge of each petal with coloured markers first, and then blended with Artist Alcohol Markers Colorless Blender. I stamped the centre layer of rose with Ruby Red dye ink. For the leaves, I used Green Fields dye ink set.

For the background panel, I used the Striped Leaf Cover die and the “Thanks” sentiment, I used the Script Words 2 die set.

For my second card, I stamped the roses using Red Cosmos, Cool Summer Night dye ink sets and Green Field dye ink set for the leaves.

Altenew Watercolor Brush Marker Refills Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello crafty friends, TGIF!
Welcome to the Altenew Watercolor Brush Marker Refills Release Blog Hop. I’m so excited to be a part of this amazing blog hop!! If you arrived here from Virginia Lu’s blog you are on the right track!
Altenew watercolor brush marker refills are really amazing. They are refills but can be used as liquid watercolor paints. I have many other watercolour mediums but undoubtedly I’ll only use them for a while! I seriously LOVE them so much!!

For my first card, I die cut flower petals & leaves from watercolour paper using the Rose Flurries 3D die set first, and then watercoloured them with several Watercolor Brush Marker Refills & water brush.
For flower petals, I used Ruby Red, Sunkissed, Rouge and Fresh Lemon.
For leaves, I used Lime, Mountain Mist, Sweet Leaf and Emerald.
(**Emerald colour included in this Winter Wonderland set is a different toned Emerald from the one in the Spring Garden set. The Emerald in the Winter Wonderland set is a cool tone of the Emerald colour.)
Once all die cuts were dry, I assembled flowers and leaves. For the sentiment, I die cut the word “Hugs” from white card stock using the Script Words die set.
I trimmed the left side of kraft rectangle panel down using the Creative Edges: Notebook die, then inked all edges with Rocky Shore dye ink. I mounted all elements as shown in the picture using foam tape, then added opaque white ink splatters using Pure White ink spray.

For my second card, I made no-line watercoloured floral background with the Build-A-Flower: Coral Charm set.
I randomly stamped flowers & leaves onto watercolour paper panel using Sand Dunes dye ink. I then watercoloured all stamped images with Watercolor Brush Marker Refills:
Red flowers: mixed with Ruby Red and Paper Bag
Brown flowers: mixed with Paper Bag, Rouge and Espresso
Leaves: mixed with Sweet Leaf and Espresso
I added green, brown, opaque white ink splatters to the entire panel.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom + Giveaway

Hello crafty friends!
This month’s Altenew build-a-flower set features a beautiful Peony Blossom. The Peony Blossom Build-A-Flower has a slightly different approach than our conventional Build-A-Flower sets. The stamp set has three five-petal flowers accompanied by a shading layer and a center layer. You may use these flowers as is, or layer them to create dimension. The matching dies will cut the flowers all the way to the edge without leaving a border. This will help in shaping the petals to the desired dimension when using a shaping tool (don’t have a shaping tool? You can use the domed end of a pen or pencil!). We included an additional flower die and stamen dies to help you create realistic blooms! Even though we named the set ‘Peony Blossom’ since the petals were loosely based on Peony petals, you can let your imagination run wild and create different types of flowers! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Altenew Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom

Here is what I came up with:

I stamped flower petals onto watercolour paper using Coral Bliss & Heart Beat dye inks, and then die cut them with the matching dies.
I then cut between stamped lines shown as the picture using scissors.
I added stamen on the centre of each flower using foam tape.
For the sentiment, I used the Adore You stamp set.

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to six lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog for a chance to win. Three winners will be announced on the Card Blog, and other three winners will be announced on the Scrapbook Blog on 2/18/2018.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a lovely day!

Keep smiling and be blessed! God bless you all!

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Carnation + Giveaway

Hello crafty friends!
This month’s build-a-flower set features a beautiful carnation. The meaning of carnation includes fascination, distinction, and love, and its use in art and decor dates back to ancient Greek and Roman times. With their ruffled appearance and classic beauty, these flowers possess a charm and allure that continues to captivate people around the globe. Alongside the multi-step carnation, we have included two-step leaves, berries, and a cluster of tiny flowers that can be used as filler images for your flower arrangements! The set also includes three kindness sentiments that are great for any occasion.
Altenew Build-A-Flower: Carnation

Here is what I came up with:
When I saw the beautiful Carnation set, I wanted to make very feminine card. :D I stamped layered carnations & leaves using some dye inks, and then die cut them with the matching dies:
Red carnation: (light to dark) Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy, Coral Berry, Ruby Red
Pink carnation: Frosty Pink, Peach Perfect, Cotton Candy, Coral Berry
Leaves: Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades
Before mounting the cluster of carnations, I decorated the Spicy Yogurt card base with lace.

Please visit and leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog for a chance to win one of THREE $30 gift certificates!!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a lovely day!
