Hello crafty friends, TGIF!
Welcome to the Altenew + The Daily Marker Watercolor Therapy Blog Hop. I’m so happy to be a part of this amazing blog hop! If you arrived here from Isha Gupta’s blog you are on the right track!
Just like the title of the blog hop, watercolouring is certainly one of the great ways to heal my mind! It’s a remedy that gives joy to my tired mind. I’m sure you agree with me. :D Today I want to share my watercoloured “Thank You” card using the Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers along with the Forever and Always set.
Rose petals: Crimson, Citrus Burst
Leaves: Lime, Sweet Leaf, Mountain Mist
Stem: Paper Bag
I stamped a bouquet of roses from the Forever and Always set using brown pigment ink. I coloured edges of each petal with Crimson, then added water as shown in the picture.
I then took the colour out using tissue. Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers are vivid and strong. The colours themselves are beautiful but if we take the colour out a bit, it gives off a vintage look.
I arranged all watercoloured roses onto 3.25 x 4.5″ rectangle panel – adhered roses temporarily on white panel using washi tapes, and then trimmed them. I didn’t use white paper panel.
I traced a 3.25 x 4.5″ rectangle on the centre of kraft card base with a pencil, and then added all trimmed images using foam tape. For the sentiment, I used the word “Thank you” in the Flower Arrangement die set.
Here is a closer look:

Your roses are so beautifully water coloured, you make them pop off the pages, and the thank you looks like it is just floating on top of the card. Very pretty!
Love these gorgeous floral designs and the way you watercolored them! Beautiful card!
Excellent watercoloring!! The vibrant colors of the flowers are very attractive and greatly contrast the craft color background.
Yoonsun- brilliant tip on creating the more vintage look by *removing* some color, and such a clever approach to fitting all the flowers on the card by trimming and rearranging. Thanks so much for contributing to the therapy inspiration!
