Altenew: Happy Holidays

Happy Thursday crafty friends!
I’m up on the Altenew blog with my Christmas card to share with you using the Build-A-Flower: Poinsettia along with other products. The poinsettia is one of the plants traditionally use as Christmas decoration so it makes me feel excited about Christmas approaching!!
To create this card, I stamped & die cut the layered poinsettia from the Altenew Build-A-Flower: Poinsettia set. I used (from light to dark) Ruby Red, Velvet, Dark Chocolate dye inks for solid images and then Jet Black dye ink for outlined image. I then heat embossed the sentiment from the Altenew Holiday Wishes set on dark brown card stock in white, and then trimmed it down as a small banner.
For the background, I die cut the Striped Leaf Cover from kraft card stock, and then mounted the “Striped Leaf” panel on kraft card base using foam tape. I added white ink splatters here and there. I added Gold Fenstone Decorative, poinsettia die cut, and sentiment banner in order using foam tape as well. To finish it off, I added white dots using Nuvo Simply White Crystal Drops.

Altenew Stamp Focus: Just Because

Happy Monday crafty friends! I hope you had a wonderful World Card Making Day last weekend. I’m up on the Altenew blog with my three floral cards using the newly released (and so gorgeous) Altenew Just Because stamp set. I love this set so much!!

For my first card, I made a watercolour card using watercolour pencils and water brush. I stamped larger arch-shaped flower bouquet image from the Altenew Just Because set on watercolor paper panel using VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink, coloured them with watercolour pencils, and then brushed them with water brush. For the sentiment, I used the word “hugs” in the Altenew Script Words die set.

For my second card, I created a watercolour smoosh background – This is a very pretty and unpredictable watercolour background technique!! I stamped a flower bouquet and sentiment from the Just Because set on the centre of an A2 sized watercolour paper panel in VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink. Once the inked panel was dry, I applied a watercolour wash on the panel using some Distress inks and a water brush.
Once the watercoloured panel was completely dry, I die cut the word “XO” from the panel using the Altenew Bold Alphabet die set. I mounted the panel on white card base using glue tape first, and then added the word dies using foam tape.

For my last card, I coloured the flowers with the Artist markers along with some Copic markers. I stamped and coloured a flower bouquet, cut a top part of the panel, and then mounted it on top-folded Lagoon card base using foam tape.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Keep smiling and be blessed! God bless you all!

Altenew September 2017 Release Blog Hop Day 2 + Giveaway

Hello crafty friends, happy Thursday!
Welcome to the second day of the Altenew September 2017 Release Blog Hop!! We have 14 brand new stamp sets, 15 new die sets, and re-inkers in September! If you arrived here from Keeway Tsao’s blog you are on the right track!

For my first two cards, I used the Cotton Comfort stamp set along with the Holiday Wishes stamp set.
I love white on kraft! This is one of my favourite colour combinations for Christmas cards. I stamped the large cotton flower from the Cotton Comfort set on kraft card stock in brown pigment ink, coloured it with white polychromos pencil, and then die cut it with the matching die. For the sentiment panel, I heat embossed the sentiment from the Holiday Wishes set in white, stamped cotton flowers randomly using Tea Dye Distress ink, added white ink splatters, ink blended all edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink.
I tied the jingle bells on the cotton flower because it’s a Christmas card! :D
I randomly stamped cotton flowers from the Cotton Comfort set on watercolour paper panel in brown pigment ink, and then watercoloured the panel using Distress inks and a wet paint brush. I added white ink splatters. For the sentiment, I used the Holiday Wishes stamp set.

For my third card, I made a shaker Christmas card using the Night Before Christmas stamp & die set. I stamped cotton flowers from the Cotton Comfort set randomly onto white paper panel using Silver Stone dye ink, then cut a Christmas tree window on the centre of the stamped panel using the Night Before Christmas die. For the ombré stamped tree, I used the Bamboo, Forest Glades, and Evergreen dye inks.

For my last card, I made a watercoloured flower card using brand new Just Because stamp set. It looks gorgeous in my eyes, haha!! I stamped the flower cluster on watercolour paper in black pigment ink, lightly watercoloured the stamped image using watercolour pencils and water brush, and then fussy cut it. I mounted it on the left side of kraft card using foam tape, and then added white ink splatters.
