SSS Cherished Release Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends, TGIF!
Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Cherished Release Blog Hop!! If you arrived here from Nina Marie Trapani’s blog you are on the right track!

Today I will be sharing with you my summer themed cards using brand new Summer Flowers Stamp Set, Circular Lace Stencil, and Wonky Rectangles Die Set.
As you can guess, my first card is watercolour flower card! :D I randomly stamped flowers and leaves from the Summer Flowers set on watercolour paper using VersaFine Vintage Sepia pigment ink, and then trimmed it down with the Wonky Rectangle panel die. I coloured them with Peerless watercolors and water brush. For the sentiment, I die cut the word “Delightful” from metal gold card stock five times, stacked them up using fine tip glue pen. Once the watercoloured panel was dry, I mounted it on an A2 sized top-folded kraft card base using double-sided tape first, and then added the sentiment die cut using fine tip glue pen.

For my second card, I used the Circular Lace stencil as my main supply. I laid the stencil over watercolour panel, and then inked with some Distress inks: Abandoned Coral, Scattered Straw, Crushed Olive, Victorian Velvet, and Cracked Pistachio. Once the inked panel was dry, I distressed all edges of the panel using Tim Holtz Paper Distresser.
For the sentiment, I used the Believe word die and the Believe stamp set. Around the sentiment, I added some vellum butterflies (from the Butterfly Drift die).

My last card is sunflower card. I heat embossed sunflowers from the Summer Flowers set on kraft panel in white, and then coloured them with Faber Castell polychromos pencils. For the sentiment, I used the Oh Happy Day stamp set.

  1. Each design is SO beautiful!! I even like the wonky stitched frame and I didn’t think I would until I saw your sunflower card! Thanks for sharing all of these with us!

  2. All 3 of yur cards are wonderful. The sunflowers are perfect on the kraft cardstock.I love the the new fancy stencils.

  3. These are such lovely cards, Yoonsun. Each so unique and so “delightful” as your first sentiment says. Thanks for sharing these on this blog hop.

  4. I love all of your cards, especially the ones that used my favorite color, yellow. I love your first ‘Delightful’ card because it’s different from all the ones I’ve seen on the hop so far. The colors go well together and I love the gold wording.
Everyone has used the stencils and I like how you did yours. I love stencils and I would love to win one of these.
Your sunflower card looks like it was done on a paper bag and I like that. You’re coloring is really nice. If I had to pick a fave card I couldn’t although the one with the yellow would come in close to being a fave. Thanks for showing us your pretty cards and for giving us a chance to win something. I can’t wait to win!

  5. You did such a beautiful job with this card. As soon as I get to order these lace background stencils, I am going to try your technique. I can’t wait!

  6. Beautiful cards, really love the last one – pencils on kraft is so amazing. And I’m so jealous – those FC polychromos I’ve heard are AMAZING and so much better than Prismacolor’s now…

  7. Gorgeous cards. You have given me lots of ideas for today’s card making hour. ( Not always an hour though, nearly 4/5 hours is normal lol) I’ve only ever published 1 card on the net as I’m fairly new and dont have the confidence to put any more up, but, the inspiration I have got from you will probably give me a little more confidence to put more up lol. Sooooo pleased you are on the SSS blog hop. Thankyou for the chance to win this great prize.

  8. Your cards are so pretty. Love the dimensional butterflies. I’m going to try the embossing on the sunflowers to give it a different look!

  9. So lovely. I especially like the second card, but that’s probably because I adore these new stencils! Great release and beautiful cards!

  10. Gorgeous cards!! Love the white on kraft and the pop of color – so bold and soft at the same time. The gold sentiment is my favorite feature of your other cards – perfect contrast against the beautiful backgrounds you created.

  11. Thank you for sharing all the great inspiration and ideas. This release is just awesome! If I could just win the lotto and afford all of it!! The kraft one is my favorite
