SSS My Favorite Release Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends, welcome to the Simon Says Stamp My Favorite Release Blog Hop!!
SSS-MyFavorite-BlogHop-BannerSimon Says Stamp released jam-packed full of fabulous products – so adorable cuddly critters, the beautiful flowers, and the bicycle! You will say that they are all your favourites!!

YoonsunHur-20160422-SSS-A001For my first card, I made a watercolour floral wreath card with my Wild Beauty stamp set. First I traced a circle on the centre of the watercolour paper panel very lightly with a pencil. I then stamped the flowers and leaves around the circle with several colours of Distress ink – I used second generation stamping technique. I then brushed the stamped images with water using waterbrush. For the sentiment in the circle frame, I used the Big Scripty Greetings stamp set.

YoonsunHur-20160422-SSS-B001I just couldn’t resist another play with the flower stamps. I randomly stamped the flowers and leaves from Sketch Ranunculus and Wild Beauty sets on the bottom portion of the watercolour panel using VersaMark Embossing ink, then heat embossed with Hero Arts White embossing powder. I then loosely coloured them with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor. I die cut the word “Faith” from the watercoloured panel using Painted Faith die and then mounted it using dimensional foam tape.

YoonsunHur-20160422-SSS-C001For my last card today, I used the new Beautiful Ride stamp set. Oh, I love that bicycle so much. Isn’t it wonderful?!! For the background, I randomly stamped the bicycle and flowers onto the Ivory card base using Stone hybrid ink, then added some dark shading with a Copic marker C1. And then I stamped the bicycle and other accessories on a separate watercolour paper using VersaFine Pigment Ink Onyx Black, coloured it with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor, then die cut it with Beautiful Ride dies.

  1. Fantastic stamp designs and fabulous cards! I love the gentle explosion of colour in a circle in the first card, and I really have to remember that faded repeat stamping of the main image makes for such an effective background! Thanks so much for the awesome inspiration!

  2. Wow, your cards are so beautiful! I especially love the first two! The composition, colors, and coloring technique are just amazing!

  3. Congrats on your designs for this new collection. These cards are outstanding and so pretty! You are blessed with so much talent.

  4. WHOA – I fell off my chair at these breath-takingly awesome and beautiful cards!! WOW – your eye for color and your knack for making cards that are pieces of art is extraordinary!!!

  5. Yoosun, I can’t tell you enough how much I love that faith die cut card! I know you said maybe July you’lol start doing videos, I hope you do one on that particular card. Did you die cut Faith twice putting the white one back in the negative space left by the die cut? I don’t have the watercolors you have but I do have watercolor pencils. I’d like to give this a try when I get the painted faith die. I like the bicycle card as well. I like all your cards. :p please keep posting on Instagram, I love your work!

  6. As always, BEAUTIFUL cards. You are so talented – Love your cards! You make me want to give watercoloring another serious try!

  7. Fantastic cards! Love how you used the flowers to frame your panel on the first and I also really love the subtle background on the last one!

  8. I love all three of these. Your colors are stunning and beautiful on both floral cards, and I am totally going to try doing a background in gray with a bright focal image. The result is amazing. Well done, Thanks so much, and bless you right back!

  9. That second one is gorgeous ,the way you made the faith blend into the stamping and inking is neat I love it we’ll they all are lovely.
