SSS Blossoms & Butterflies Blog Hop + Giveaway

Happy, happy Saturday, crafty friends!
I’m so excited to be a part of the Simon Says Stamp Blossoms & Butterflies Blog Hop! If you arrived here from Amanda Korotkova’s blog you are on the right track!

My cards today, I am featuring so lovely Bouquet of Roses Stencil – it is definitely one of my favourites among entire new release! With this beautiful stencil, I made messy watercoloured flower cards.
I positioned the Bouquet of Roses Stencil over the Wonky Stitched watercolour paper panel in place first, and then traced flowers & leaves with a pencil. I then coloured all flowers & leaves with STAEDTLER Aqua Pencils – these watercolour pencils are good-value-for-money! :D
Next, I brushed all pencil coloured images with a fine tip paint brush. To be honest, I really liked it BUT, I didn’t change my mind to make messy watercoloured flowers, haha!
Ta-da! I freely brushed over the images with a wet paint brush! I LOVE IT!!
For the sentiment, I used the Comfort and Prayers Stamp Set.

Here is one more messy watercoloured floral card with the Bouquet of Roses Stencil. I used the same technique but different colour combo.
I coloured flowers & leaves with watercolour pencils first, and then brushed pencil coloured images with a wet paint brush.

Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop. The winners will be chosen over the weekend and post on Simon Says Stamp blog on Wednesday, the 17th of April. ONE MORE! 1. I am relatively new to watercoloring and haven’t been very successful with it (yet!). I’m not going to give up. Your beautiful card gives me the encouragement to try try again. Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Your cards are really beautiful, Yoonsun! I especially love the look after you brushed water over the flowers and leaves! Thanks for showing us both looks so we could see the difference between the two. Now I want to get some watercolor pencils!!

  3. I LOVE the colors you chose for your card and I’ve never used aqua pencils before, Simon Says offering Unicorn Dust Glitter Free and a $25 chance for shopping – Whoo Hoo…..

  4. I just ordered this stencil and I can’t wait to use it! What a lovely job you did with it and anyone would be blessed to receive it from you! Thank you!

  5. What a great technique! I really like how both the more traditional colors and the blue/green/brown palettes turned out. I think I’m going to have to play with my watercolor pencils and stencils now!

  7. I just love these cards! I have a set of low quality aqua pencil crayons and this is going to be my next card technique I am going to try. Thanks for sharing the messy vs. the non messy watercolouring afterwards!
