SSS Wednesday Challenge: Sparkle and Shine

Hello crafty friends, I am back with you this week to share a Mother’s Day card I’ve created using newly released SSS Fluttering By products: Center Cut Flowers, Script Mom, Flickering Butterflies, Woodgrain Block, and Messages For Everyday.
Here is what I came up with:

I started by stamping the center floral from the Center Cut Flowers background stamp on watercolour paper using Barely Beige dye ink because of no-line colouring. I coloured the stamped image with Faber-Castell polychromos pencils. In my flowers, I coloured the half of each petal & leaf image with pencils, and then brushed them using (lightly) oiled blending stump – I used Zest-it Pencil Blend but you can use baby oil for blending oil pencils!
I have 120 polychromos pencils but you don’t need to buy too many all at once. 12 basic colour set, it’s good enough for you to try!
After colouring, I die cut the Woodgrain Block from white card stock.

I mounted the woodgrain panel on top-folded white card base using double-sided tape first, and then added coloured flower image, sentiment die cut, tiny butterflies on the card front using foam tape. For the sentiment, I used the Script Mom dies & Messages For Everyday stamp set.
To finish it off, I added these yummy fruity Nuvo Jewel Drops around the flowers!!

Simon Says Stamp generously provides a $50 Gift Voucher each week to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Keep smiling and be blessed! God bless you all!

  1. Beautifully done. I love the technique you have used with the colored pencils – the no line coloring and leaving the highlights uncolored with the oil blending. I’ll have to give that technique a try – VERY SOON! TFS
