Altenew July 2017 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello crafty friends, happy Thursday!
Welcome to the Altenew July 2017 Release Blog Hop!! We have 18 brand new stamp sets, dies, and 12 gorgeous new ink colours in July! If you arrived here from Chari Moss’s blog you are on the right track!
For my first card, I used the new Baby Balloon stamp set. I stamped the outlined image on watercolour panel using Sand Dunes dye ink, and then coloured it with Distress markers and water brush. I then traced the lines using Copic Multiliner Black.
I really want to experience the exhilaration of a sunrise hot air balloon flight. It must be so peaceful yet exhilarating!!

For my second & third cards, I used the new Layered Blossom Cover A & B dies.
I die cut the Layered Blossom Cover A from white card stock, mounted the die cut panel over sticky paper panel, and then applied fine glitter powders. For the sentiment, I die cut the word “hugs” from metal gold card stock using the new Script Words dies five times, and then glued them together using fine tip glue pen.
I die cut the Layered Blossom Cover A from the Apple Red card stock, Layered Blossom Cover B from the Orange Cream card stock, and then mounted them on the Spicy Yogurt card base using foam tape. For the sentiment, I heat embossed it from the new Sketchy Floral set on black card stock in white, cut the small banner. So simple and easy!!

My fourth & fifth cards, I used the new Pretty Pansies stamp set along with Halftone Circles stamp set.
I randomly stamped layered pansies & halftone circles from white paper panel with several dye inks:
Purple pansies: (from light to dark colours) Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris
Pink pansies: Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious, Rubellite (new colours)
Yellow pansies: Citrus Burst, Maple Yellow, Honey Drizzle (new colours)
Leaves: Frayed Leaf, Bamboo, Forest Glades
I then mounted the stamped panel on yellow card base using foam tape. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the word “Thanks!” from the Halftone Circles set on red card stock in white.

  1. Oh my gosh, I am in love with all your cards! They are so colorful and pretty. I love color, especially yellow and glitter and you used both. We just went to a balloon fest but because of the wind there were no balloons going up or any on the ground. However, on your card the balloon is in the air so wind or no wind your balloon is up there. Your glittery flower and the bright orange and red flower are amazing! Glitter is my thing and boy did you glitter it up! I don’t have a die cutter so I can’t do that with the glitter but I could emboss it with glitter embossing powder. How fun would that be? Your Pansy’s look so real! I have to learn how to do that so when I win and get those Pansy’s I can make them look real too. Your cards are stunning and thank you so much for showing them to us. Thanks also for giving us the chance to win something!

  2. One word – PANSIES!! Love this new set, and your cards are wonderful using it! Thanks so much for sharing your creations!

  3. My eyes are going to have to go on a diet after looking at this page full of eye candy!! lol! There is SO much to love here!! The amazing glitter and layered die cut, those fabulous pansies mixed with the halftones, your terrific watercolor balloon… Love ’em all!

  4. Oh wow! Your cards are stunning. They are all beautiful but I especially love the pansy ones. Thank you for the inspiration and chance to win.

  5. WOW! Absolutely breathtaking cards! Love the glimmer and shimmer on the Layered Blossom Cover card, the Pansy card is magically delicious and your Hot Air Balloon card is uplifting and stunning! I am totally blown away by all of these stunning creations! TFS! 🤞🤞🤞😁🤞🤞🤞

  6. Gorgeous art!!!! Great to see those amazing cover dies, they are fabulous! Your pansies are so stunning I am wishing I had them…..THANKS so much for sharing and inspiring:)

  7. Oh wow! All of these cards are so wonderful. The 3D look to your balloon, beautiful inlaid rose and how your used the halftone circles with the pansies!

  8. Your cards are amazing! You certainly succeeded in making the balloon card look peaceful. The glittered blossom is gorgeous and I bet it looks even better in person. Love the pansies, too. Two great ways to use them. I never would have thought to use the halftone circles with them but I really like the look. Thanks for all the great inspiration!
