Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends!
Welcome to day 3 of the Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane Collection Blog Hop!
soa-bloghopStamp of Approval is a hand picked, exclusive collection of products that were designed just for the box (the boxes are adorable by the way) that releases quarterly. The products from this collection won’t be available for individual sale until much later this year! The first box
released last year and sold out within hours, so be sure to subscribe to the Wait List so you will be emailed when the collection goes on sale to the WL on September 21st! With the purchase of SOA collections, you get an amazing PDF download for FREE with fabulous projects and step-by-step instructions on how to make the projects with just the contents of the collection!

For my first card, I used so beautiful Merry and Bright Boughs Stamp Set and Merry Labels Dies. With the Merry and Bright Boughs set, you can build your own Christmas wreath but today I just made my own custom stamped background.
yoonsunhur-201609-soa-a001I randomly stamped the boughs, leaves, and berries from the Merry and Bright Boughs set on an A2 sized watercolour paper panel with Christmas colours of Distress ink, and then lightly brushed the stamped images using water brush. Once the panel was completely dry, I die cut the sentiment panel from the centre of the panel using the Merry Labels Dies. I then used the MISTI stamping tool to stamp the sentiment and then inked the edges of the panel with Antique Linen Distress ink using mini round blending tool. I wrapped natural twine on the bottom of the sentiment panel three times, added a bow and silver jingle bell. Lastly I mounted two panels as shown to A2 top folded white card base using foam tape.

yoonsunhur-201609-soa-b001For my second card, I used so cheerful Candy Cane Lane Stamp and Die Set. I stamped the sentiment from the Candy Cane Lane set on the centre of the white paper panel with Versafine onyx black ink first, and then randomly stamped the images around the sentiment area with dye inks. Next, I die cut some stamped images from the panel using the Candy Cane Lane Dies, and then inlaid them in place using foam tape. I mounted the stamped panel on A2 top folded red card base using foam tape.

  1. Hey Yoonsun, I love the techniques you used on your cards, and I especially LOVE the first one.It has the same rustic homey feel as Mo’s cards . I really love the colors you chose, too! I am gonna have to go digging through my stash for some similar stamps. Thanks for sharing!!

  2. Wow!!!! Your first card just amazes me!!! It’s so Beautiful!!! I love the way you made your background. The colors are Beautiful. Your second card is just darling too. Love how festive it is.

  3. Love both cards. The first looks vintage (without the dirty cluttered look sometimes in vintage pieces). The second is so cheery and fun. Inlaying the candies back in place with some dimension really highlights the candy. Just wonderful

  4. Yoonsun…I love how you used traditional and non-traditional colors, together, on your cards! ☺ I tend to think one way or another…rather than combining the 2. I’ve seen several other examples of this during this blog hop….so it inspires me to think outside of the box when I’m creating my own holiday cards this season!! ☺ And I love how your created some dimension with the die-cuts from this SOA Collection! Thank you for sharing your inspiration!! ☺

  5. Oh. My. Goodness! Your first card is a beauty. I LOVE it! and your second card is so much fun! Thanks for sharing such awesome inspiration. There’s just so much you can do with these stamps. I’m so excited for this release!

  6. I like both your cards, but agog over the first. I LOVE how you’ve label die cut through the original layer, and the kicker being you inked up that label layer. OMG that is so gorgeous, and it stands out beautifully. Thanks for all the inspiration. A job well done showcasing this card kit.

  7. Very pretty cards and love the technique you used for the first one. I never thought of doing that and love the colors. They have that log cabin feeling to them. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Fantastic watercolor technique on the first card but my favorite is the candy cane inlay diecut one. Will have to try that when I get my goodies. Super excited only one day left!!!
