SSS STAMPtember® Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends! Happy STAMPtember®!!
SSS-STAMPtember-BannerSeptember is, without a doubt, my favourite time of year and I am SUPER excited to be a part of Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® Blog Hop today!! Are you ready for a month long STAMPtember® celebration?! YAY! Let’s dive right in!!

Today I have three watercolour cards to share with you using the brand new exclusive STAMPtember® products! Woot!!
YoonsunHur-20160903-SSS-A001For my first card, I used the Hydrangea Blooms stamp set I designed. I simply stamped the outlined hydrangea image from the set onto the cold press watercolour paper panel using Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves Distress inks first. I then stamped the solid hydrangea image over the stamped area with the same colours, brushed them using a wet paint brush for a more subtle look. For the hydrangea cluster, I used Post-It Notes to mask stamped images. For the leaves, I coloured them with Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint Distress inks.

For my second card, I used so adorable Christmas Toys stamp set – It reminded me of my childhood Christmas memories!!
YoonsunHur-20160903-SSS-B001To start, I randomly stamped the images from the Christmas Toys set on the Stitches Rectangle watercolour paper panel using Antique Linen Distress ink, and then coloured them with Peerless watercolors and waterbrush. I coloured the background with Antique Linen Distress ink. Once the panel was dry, I gold heat embossed the edges of the panel, and then mounted it on the Schoolhouse Red card base using double-sided tape. For the sentiment, I white heat embossed it on the Schoolhouse Red card stock, added natural twine and silver jingle bell.

For my last card, I played with the gorgeous Abstract Triangles background stamp. I was inspired by the beautiful fall foliage colours.
YoonsunHur-20160903-SSS-C001 To create the card, I stamped the Abstract Triangles Background on an A2 cold press watercolour paper panel using Antique Linen Distress ink, and then watercoloured the background with Peerless watercolors and waterbrush. For the sentiment, I used two word dies ‘Grathful‘ and ‘Autumn Blessings‘. The ‘Grateful’ set has both script and outline dies so we can create various styles with them!
YoonsunHur-20160903-SSS-C002Your next stop on the hop is super talented Wanda Guess. We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projects as you hop along to each of the designer’s blogs!

  1. I especially loved the first and third cards. Congratulations on designing the beautiful stamps! I like your technique on the first card and would not have thought to stamp the image and then color it with the detailed stamp. I will be trying that. The card has such a soft look to it and I love the colors. And speaking of colors! The third card has such jeweled tones and is perfect for fall! Both of these cards make me want to buy water color paper and some water colors (and use my distress inks). Thanks for sharing your techniques with us

  2. The hydrangeas are gorgeous. i really enjoyed the techniques you used for your cards. i can’t wait to try some. thank you for the inspiration.

  3. Wonderful cards! All of them look so amazing! Your watercoloring is fantastic! I love all the stamps and dies you have used on them! I so want to try the triangle background card with the die cut word! Looks fun to make! Thanks for sharing :)

  4. Great cards. I especially like the floral card with your hydrangea stamp. Beautiful stamp and gorgeous water coloring effect. Thanks for sharing!!
