SSS Wednesday Challenge – Favorite Technique

Hello crafty friends, happy Wednesday!
wed-newchallenge-headerHere we are again with a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
wed-challenge-badge_zpsf506d7eeThis week’s theme is My Favorite Technique!

Here is what I came up with:
YoonsunHur-20150617-SSSWC01Watercolour card is definitely my most favourite and I love the colours of the rainbow. So, I made my own rainbow watercolour background.

Simon Carousel Horse die takes me back to my childhood. When I was a little girl, my parents took me to the amusement park to celebrate my birthday. I still remember how I loved riding carousel horses and seeing a pretty rainbow up in the sky. Ohhhh… I want to go to the amusement park right now lol!

To create my own background, I used Distress inks Festive Berries, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, and Seedless Preserves in rainbow order. I saturated a wide paintbrush with fresh water, and brushed the water over the watercolour panel at first. I then coloured with those Distress inks using the same paintbrush. I die cut the carousel horse and birthday circle from the white cardstock, mounted them as shown to the watercoloured panel. To finish it off, I embellished some clear sequins, star wood veneers.

    Lols x x x

  2. Adding the carousel horse die to my wish list. There is always something magical and classy about a carousel horse, and I really like how you re-enforced the “magic” feeling by creating a rainbow watercolor background. The colors came together beautifully.
