Tropical Leaf Card

Hello crafty friends!
Today I want to share with you my tropical leaf card with Altenew Hibiscus Garden 3D die set. I just used leaf dies in the set.

I die cut large leaves from watercolour paper first, then ink blended leaf die cuts with green & blue distress inks. I ink blended the leaf of top-left corner using Bundled Sage & Tea Dye distress inks. For large tropical leaves, I ink blended it with Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers and a bit of Pine Needles distress inks. As you know, distress ink reacts with water so, I lightly brushed over the ink with a water brush to lift some of the colour, giving the leaves a watercolour look. I mounted all leaves onto a white card base using foam tape, and then green ink splattered & opaque white ink splattered all over the leafy panel.

For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment on a stitched circle panel using Walnut Stain distress ink, then heat embossed the edge of sentiment circle panel with gold. I also decorated around the leaves with PPP 4mm Clear Droplets.

Here in Sydney, Australia, we’re in the midst of autumn heading into winter, but since most countries are entering late spring and approaching summer, I made a card with a refreshing tropical vibe. :D

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Simple Flower Cards

Hello crafty friends!
Today I will share with you a couple of simple floral cards with the MFT Stitched Flowers Die-Namics. I’m still obssessed with the MFT Stitched Flowers! ;)

For my first card, I made a card to celebrate a wedding. For the background panel, I die cut from thick white cardstock using an A2 sized Paper Rose Studio Pierced Rectangles Panel die first, then dry embossed the panel using Altenew Mod Squares 3D embossing folder. (By the way, Paper Rose Studio is a craft company based in Australia. As a fellow Australian, I feel so proud to know that such a wonderful craft company is from here. :D)

I die cut several shaped and sized stitched flowers, very thin stems and tiny leaves from assorted colour cardstock using MFT Stitched Flowers Die-Namics. I also cut Love Heart Hands from white cardstock, coloured the die cut with E00 Cotton Pearl & E11 Barely Beige Copic sketch markers. For the sentiment, I die cut from Matte Gold cardstock using MFT Twice Blessed Die-Namics.

I assembled stitched flowers and leaves to make bouquet using adhesives as you can see the picture, then decorated bouquet, wrist, and gold ‘blessed’ sentiment with Paper Rose Studio Clear Crystals because it’s a card to celebrate a beautiful bride, it’s perfectly fine to add as many sparkling crystals as we can! :D

For the second card, I made a watercolour stitched flower card. It is east to make! I die cut some stitched flowers from watercolour paper first, randomly adhered flowers onto an A2 sized white paper panel using foam tape, then lightly watercoloured all flowers. I coloured the centre of each flower with Scattered Straw & Wild Honey distress inks, petals with Pumice Stone distress ink. I added green leaves between the flowers as accents. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

Stitched Floral Cards

Hello crafty friends, TGIF!
Today I will share with you pretty floral cards featuring MFT Stitched Flowers Die-Namics.

If you are who makes flower cards, you probably have at least one favourite flower die set. MFT Stitched Flower die set is one of my all-time favourites. This beautiful floral die set has been around for a while, but thankfully it hasn’t been retired yet (hopefully it will be back soon).

For the first card, I applied the Altenew Diamond Stars 3D embossing folder to kraft paper panel first, then slightly distressed the edges using Tim Holtz Paper Distresser to make a bit rough edges. I die cut some stitched flowers from thick white cardstock using MFT Stitched Flower dies, then inked them with yellow (Wild Honey) & red (Festive Berries) distress inks.

For the second card, I made a daisy card using the MFT Stitched Flower die set. I used the same supplies as in my first card but made a different layout.

For the background panel, I dry embossed with Diamond Stars 3D embossing folder, then applied pigment white ink on the panel. Pigment white ink is very vivid and bright. So, to avoid applying it too heavily, I brushed onto the kraft panel with a blending brush.

For my last card today, I made a ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ card. I simply die cut the stitched flowers from several coloured cardstock first, then assembled them together as you can see the picture.

For the sentiment, I used SSS Reverse Mom Days Sentiment Strips.

Along with PPP clear droplets, one thing I almost always use on my flower cards is a white butterfly. When tiny butterflies and clear droplets are placed around or on top of the flowers, the flowers seem to look much fresher and more beautiful, please say “YES!”. :D

I think I will continuously be mixing old and new products to make my cards-there are many oldies that I absolutely cherish. I really hope you love my cards. :D

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Leafy Blessed Cards

Long time no see, crafty friends!!
It’s been a whole year-I am finally back on the blog after such a long time! I had such a strong desire to connect with you all through cards every single day, but time just wouldn’t allow it. During this precious long Easter holiday, as I sat down to make cards again, I realised just how much joy cardmaking brings me. I’ve decided to reconnect with all of my crafty friends through cards once more. :D

Today, I will share with you three of my leafy “Blessed” cards. Can’t lie, I made them and I’m kinda obsessed! Haha!

The main supply for my today’s cards is the Altenew Floating Foliage 3D Embossing Folder – the leafy background is really gorgeous, even just this leafy pattern on the white cardstock is so pretty, don’t you think?!!

I ink blended with several green and yellow distress inks on the leafy background using ink blending tool and, to give it a watercolour look, I lightly touched the ink-blended pattern with a water brush. For the ink blended background panel, I used Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive, Bundled Sage, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Aged Mahogany Distress inks.

For the first card, I added white and vellum Leafy Wreath from Altenew and gold “Blessed” sentiment from MFT on the A2 sized leafy pattern card.

I decorated the wreath using clear crystals from Paper Rose Studio. I love this bling-bling, shiny wreath so much!

For my second card, I added beautiful butterflies and “Blessed” sentiment from MFT over the A2 sized leafy pattern card. For the “Blessed” sentiment, I die cut it from kraft cardstock and applied Vintage Photo distress ink.

For my last card today, I added white Leafy Garland from Altenew and gold “Blessed” sentiment from MFT on the A2 sized leafy pattern card.

I decorated the wreath using PPP 4mm clear droplets. I love how sparkly and shiny this wreath turned out! :)

From now on, I plan to share cards I make on my blog, then give away through Instagram (@rejoicingcrafts). I want to give back the joy and happiness I’ve received from my wonderful followers by sharing it through my handmade cards. I hope for your warm support and interest! :D

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

SSS Wednesday Challenge: Halloween

Hello crafty friends, happy Wednesday. It’s time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
(This is my second post of the day, for the PPP October Release Blog Hop, click HERE.)
This week the challenge is “Halloween.” Honestly, and personally, I don’t like to make Halloween card but today’s MFT Halloween dragons are so cute! :D
I started by making “Halloween” background with several dark coloured Distress inks. I blended on a 4.25″ x 5.5″ watercolour paper panel with Fired Brick, Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans and Walnut Stain Distress inks. I then added water drops all over the inked panel. Next, I die cut the word “HALLOWEEN” from white card stock five times using the MFT Stitched Alphabet Die-Namics, stacked each alpha up using fine tip glue pen – made them thicker like chipboard.
I stamped adorable dragons & fires from the MFT Magical Dragons set on watercolour paper using Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink, coloured them with the Altenew Artist Markers, and then die cut them with the MFT Magical Dragons Die-Namics.

Simon Says Stamp generously provides a $50 Gift Voucher to shop at the Simon Says Stamp Store!
Check out what the Wednesday Challenge Team has created this week and play along. Have a wonderful day!

Keep smiling and be blessed! God bless you all!
