Altenew – Thinking of YOU

Hello crafty friends, TGIF!
I’m on the Altenew blog today with my watercolour flower card using the Altenew Spring Daisy stamp set.
YoonsunHur-20160826-Altenew-001To start, I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Spring Daisy set on an A2 sized watercolour paper panel with VersaFine Onyx Black – I used Post-It Notes to mask stamped images. I then coloured a floral cluster with Distress inks and paint brush: (Red) Festive Berries & Wild Honey / (Yellow) Wild Honey & Mustard Seed / (Leaves) Mowed Lawn. Once the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Thinking of You set on the panel in Jet Black dye ink. I decorated the bottom of the panel with a thin black diagonal stripe washi tape, and then mounted it on an A2 size top folded white card base using double-sided tape. To finish it off, I embellished with a few PPP clear droplets.

Starting in August, we have a new free with $60 die available for our customers with every kit release. It will be the free die (while supplies last) for the duration of the month until the next release. The new Free with $60 die for August is the Thanks Die-namics.

YoonsunHur-20160823-MFT-CardKit-A001For my first card, I made my own floral background with the Stitched Flowers Die-namics in the kit.
YoonsunHur-20160823-MFT-CardKit-A003To start, I die cut the stitched flowers and leaves from watercolour paper using the Stitched Flowers Die-namics, and then adhered them on an A2 sized watercolour paper panel using double-sided tape and fine tip glue pen.
YoonsunHur-20160823-MFT-CardKit-A004I trimmed the edges of the panel, then ink blended on it with Distress inks using mini ink blending tool – I used Festive Berries, Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans, and Seedless Preserves Distress inks. After doing some ink bleding, I spritzed with perfect pearls mist, added some white ink splatters all over the panel – I wanted to add a bit of shine and sparkle to my card.
YoonsunHur-20160823-MFT-CardKit-A005Once the panel was completely dry, I mounted it on an A2 sized white card base using double-sided tape, and then lifted each petal using my fingertips for beautiful 3D effects!

YoonsunHur-20160823-MFT-CardKit-B001For my second card, I made a beautiful bouquet with the Stitched Flowers Die-namics. First, I cut the Peek-a-Boo Polka Dots Die-namics from white card stock. I then die cut the flowers and leaves from colour card stocks using the Stitched Flowers Die-namics. I mounted the panel on white card base using foam tape first, and then arranged all flowers and leaves, adhered them using foam tape.
YoonsunHur-20160823-MFT-CardKit-B002YoonsunHur-20160823-MFT-CardKit-C001For my last card, I made a floral wreath with the Stitched Flowers Die-namics – I loooove these dies!! I coloured the flowers & leaves with watercolour pencils. For the sentiment, I used the Thanks Die-namics (the free with $60 die for August).

SSS Hugs

Hello crafty friends, happy weekend!
Today I want to share with you a couple cards that I’ve made using the SSS Big Hugs word die.
YoonsunHur-20160820-SSS-BothYoonsunHur-20160820-SSS-A001To start, I made the floral background with the Birthday Flowers stamp set. I used the Mini MISTI stamping tool to stamp the flowers & leaves. After stamping images, I lightly coloured around the flowers and leaves with some Distress inks and a wet paint brush. (All supplies are linked at the end of this post.)

SSS-P01For the sentiment panel, I die cut the word ‘Hugs’ from white card stock using the Big Hugs die.
SSS-P03I used washi tape to secure the word die in place and then run it through die cutting machine.
SSS-P04I then inserted the word die cut into the spaces in the top edge of the die-cut panel using double-sided tape.
SSS-P05
YoonsunHur-20160820-SSS-A002Lastly, I mounted the floral background on an A2 sized white card base using double-sided tape first, and then added the sentiment panel on the bottom of the card using foam tape. The word ‘Hugs’ and pretty flowers are so gorgeous together!!
YoonsunHur-20160820-SSS-B001Here is another card with the same design but different colour combos! For the tropical background, I used the Tropical Leaves stamp set.

Clearly Besotted English Rose

Hello crafty friends, TGIF!!
Today I want to share with you my flower card using the newly released Clearly Besotted English Rose stamp set.
CBesotted-EnglishRoseThe set is so beautiful! I think it will be one of my all time favourite stamp sets!!

Here is what I came up with:
YoonsunHur-20160812-CBesotted-001I used the Mini MISTI stamping tool to stamp layered roses & leaves exactly where I want. I stamped the roses & leaves from the set onto watercolour paper panel using Altenew dye inks:
3 of larger red roses: Ruby Red & Dark Chocolate (darker shade)
2 of brighter red roses: Crimson & Velvet (darker shade)
Leaves: Forest Glades & Evergreen (darker shade)
Once the stamped panel was dry, I lightly coloured the roses with Tattered Rose Distress ink, the leaves with Twisted Citron Distress ink. I then coloured around the roses with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and a wet paint brush. I added red ink splatters over the panel. For the sentiment, I stamped it from the To You With Love set on the bottom part of the panel in VersaFine Onyx Black, and then heat embossed it in clear. Finally, I mounted the panel on an A2 sized white card base using double-sided tape, and then added clear droplets over the roses using Glossy Accents.YoonsunHur-20160812-CBesotted-003YoonsunHur-20160812-CBesotted-002Thank you so much for stopping by. SSS Watercolour stripes

Hello crafty friends, happy weekend!!
I am just popping in to share my simple watercolour cards with some SSS exclusive products.

Watercolour stripes seem to be one of pattern trends that never goes away. I love to make my own watercolour stripes behind the large sized script sentiment! I think watercolour stripes make the focal point shine, always!!
YoonsunHur-20160730-SSS-A001For the yellow watercolour stripes, I used the No. 43 Mid Yellow of Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor. Once the panel was completely dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Oh Happy Day set in the SSS Masterpiece Box on the centre of the panel in pigment black, then added flowers around the sentiment areas.
YoonsunHur-20160730-SSS-B001Here is another card that I made the same way! I painted the stripes on watercolour paper panel using No. 34 Dark Pink of Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor. Once the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Look For The Miracles set on it in black pigment ink. Then I added stamped flowers using double-sided tape.
