Merry Christmas Filigree

Hello folks! Today I want to share my 3rd Christmas card with Hero Arts stamps with you! I love Hero Arts 2014 Christmas stamp sets so much. Those stamp sets make me think of watercolouring. Don’t you think?!

HeroArtsHolidayChallengeAnyway, I’m entering this card in the Hero Arts Holiday Challenge: Anything Goes holiday cards and projects!

Here is my first card:
20141013-01-EN
First I heat embossed Hero Arts Merry Christmas Filigree Stamp on the watercolour paper in white. I then coloured around the stamped sentiment using my Peerless watercolours! To finish it off I added white & gold ink splatters to the background and sentiment area.

My second card is watercolour card as well:

20141013-03-ENI made Christmas tree shape card. I think it could be used not only card but also hanging ornament on a Christmas tree :D

I die-cut onto the watercolour paper using Sizzix Trees Christmas die and heat embossed Hero Arts Merry Christmas Filigree Stamp in white. I then blended Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves distress inks using an ink blending tool. I then layered Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil over the panel and applied white embossing paste. To finish it off I spritzed it with water and added some white ink splatters onto the tree shaped panel for having a snowy winter in my card even though I can’t get a white Christmas in Sydney…lol!

Here is what I came up with:

20141007-04-EN
1) First, I applied Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves Distress inks to the white paper panel using an ink blending tool to create a gradient. 2) I then layered Hero Arts Swirl Tree Stencil over the panel. 3) I layered WET TISSUE over the stencil because I wanted to take out colours :D Pressed entire area for 3~4minutes. (using wet tissue is so easy and handy technique lol!!)

20141007-03-ENHooray! I was soooo~ satisfied with the results. Yay!! A mysteriously romantic. Isn’t it?

20141007-02-ENI added different sized clear rhinestones and spritzed Studio Calico Mister Huey’s Opaque White ink splattering for finishing touches.

Ornaments with Joy!

Hello folks! I just popping in to share my gold embossing Christmas card today. Wow! Christmas seems to come close :D

Here is my ornament card:
20141001-01
I love Hero Arts 2014 Christmas release. They are all truly amazing!

I made it with Hero Arts Stamp & Cuts Let It Snow. I used both solid and outline ornament stamps. First, I heat embossed ornaments in gold and then cut out stamped images using a coordinating die. It is so much easier than cutting with scissors and much less time consuming :D I finished it off with red & white twine, some clear rhinestones, and sequins.

Christmas in August – CASE Study #202

Hello folks,
Christmas is just around the corner? Not yet! But, I need to make 100 Christmas cards from now on.

There are more than 100 homeless people around Sydney city area. Especially in the winter, many homeless people struggle against the cold. It is quite a sad… Our Church supports food and blankets to homeless people in Sydney since 2010. One month ago, pastor asked me to make greeting cards for those hopeless people because of delivering God’s love through handmade greeting card in Christmas and I answered “YES!!” without hesitation. Isn’t that amazing? It is really awesome job and I am so glad to make cards for them. Annnnnnnd… there is one more awesome thing to me! My Christmas card can fit for CASE Study Challenge #202 YAY!!!

CSC202-InspirationThe inspiration photo by Shari Carroll is truly amazing!!

Here is what I came up with:
20140805-01I used big enough Hero Arts Wreath of Leaves Stamp for my first CASE Study challenge card LOL!!

I made two-piece wreath as a focal point. One was for watercolouring, another was heat embossed on the vellum paper in gold. I then tied both of them using red & white twine. I wanted it feel more like Christmas, I used embossing folder on the kraft paper panel and then dabbed onto the paper in distress ink vintage photo. I added some red sequins for finishing touch.

Big congrats on the 4th Anniversary!!! I can’t wait for it.
