Welcome to the first day of the Altenew’s 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop!! If you arrived here from the WOW! Embossing Powder blog you are on the right track!
This blog hop is in honour of celebrating the 3rd Anniversary of the Altenew. I am so honoured to be taking part in this blog hop celebration!!
I made a happy birthday card for the Altenew!! I love making white heat embossed images + Distress ink blended background with the Altenew flower stamp set! I randomly heat embossed flowers and leaves from the Floral Garden set in the New Day card kit on watercolour panel in white, and then ink blended on it with some Distress inks in rainbow order: Festive Berries, Scattered Straw, Crushed Olive, Peacock Feathers and Victorian Velvet. I then lightly brushed on the ink blended panel using a wet paint brush. Once the panel was dry, I mounted it on Spicy Yogurt card base using foam tape first, and then added the sentiment banner using foam tape as well.

Altenew New Day Card Kit
Thirty four cardstock die cuts
Six 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock (Made in UK)
Forty eight 6×6 inch pattern paper sheets (two of each design)
Two alphabet sticker sheets
12 wood veneer frames
6×8 inch photopolymer clear stamp set (Made in USA)
One gold glitter tape
Frame die, hearts and stars die
Enamel dots and hearts (4×6 inch sheet)
To create the first card, I simply stamped the flower and butterfly from the Floral Garden set in the card kit on white paper panel with several dye inks: (Petal) Coral Berry, Ruby Red / (Leaves) Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Evergreen / (Butterfly) Sunkissed, Autumn Blaze. I then stamped the sentiment in Jet Black dye ink. I decorated the stamped panel with gold glitter tape in the kit and natural twine. For the card base, I used one of the pattern papers in the card kit.
For my second card, I wanted to create a clean and simple card using the new Layered Floral Cover Die A and B (This set is One and Only!!). I die cut the Layered Floral Cover Die A and B from blue shades of card stock, then adhered two layers onto Spicy Yogurt card base using foam tape. For the sentiment, I used the word “Thank you” in the Majestic Bloom die set. I embellished with some enamel dots in the card kit.
Here is one more card with the new card kit! Those flower stamp, elegant frame die, sentiment banner, and beautiful watercoloured pattern paper.. I am so in love with the New Day Card Kit!!

Hello crafty friends, welcome to the Altenew Stencils & Ink Sprays Release Blog Hop!
We are releasing 7 stencils, 12 ink sprays, 13 coloured cardstock and 7 envelopes – I love the new shimmer ink sprays in particular!!
I think you can guess what I did the first time with those shimmer ink sprays. Oh yes! I tried to do watercolouring!! To start, I laid the Floral Drape stencil on an A2 sized watercolour paper panel, traced flowers and leaves very lightly with a pencil. I then coloured them with the new shimmer ink sprays: (Flowers) Ruby Red, Coral Berry, Frosty Pink, Warm Sunshine (Leaves) Forest Glades, Frayed Leaf, Ocean Waves, Sea Glass (Small dots) Lavender Fields. For the sentiment, I used the Adore You stamp set.
Altenew ink sprays are shimmery but bright and vibrant as well. The colours blend smoothly together!!
For my second card, I used the new Layered Medallion A and B stencils as my main supply. I laid the Layered Medallion A stencil on watercolour paper, and then inked with Coral Berry, Frosty Pink dye inks. Next, I laid the Layered Medallion B stencil on the inked panel in place, then inked with Ruby Red dye ink. Once the panel was dry, I trimmed it down using stitched rectangle panel die. I mounted the panel on the new Apple Red card base using foam tape, and then lightly coloured on the centre of the patterned background with the Frosty Pink shimmer ink. For the sentiment, I used the word “Thank you” in the Majestic Bloom die set.
The pattern is.. well, how do I explain.. very deep and mysterious looking. It looks like Magic Eye pictures, don’t you think? :D
