Altenew-July2016-ReleaseBlogHop-Banner
Today I want to share a couple of watercolour cards that I’ve made using the Celebrations stamp set.
YoonsunHur-20160729-Altenew-A01For my first card, I used the masking stamping technique to make stacks of rainbow macaroons!! I stamped the macaroons from the Celebrations set on watercolour paper panel in VersaFine Pigment Ink Onyx Black, and then watercoloured them with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor. I mounted the panel on an A2 sized white card base using double-sided tape first, and then added the sentiment banner on the card front using dimensional foam tape.

YoonsunHur-20160729-Altenew-B01For my second card, I used the rose image from the Celebrations stamp set. I simply stamped the rose along with the sentiment on watercolour paper panel in black pigment ink, then coloured the roses with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor. I added black ink splatters. Once the panel was dry, I mounted it on kraft card base using dimensional foam tape.

Your next stop on the hop is super talented Yana!! We hope you have all enjoyed our fun and inspirational blog hop!

Julia Altermann – Celebrating 10K YouTube Subscribers Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends, I’m so thrilled (and honoured) to be a part of my super talented friend Julia‘s Celebrating 10K You Tube Subscribers Blog Hop. Wow! She reached an important milestone!!
Julia-BlogHop-BannerThe topic of her hop is “Celebrating Kindness” because she wants to give back to everyone who has been so supportive over the past few years, so it’s really about celebrating all the awesome people in our community who are so generous with taking the time to comment, encourage, send cards and just be wonderful – I totally respect and admire her opinions!!

Here is my card for this wonderful hop:YoonsunHur-20160726-MFT-JuliaBlogHop-001For my card today, I made a watercolour flower card with the MFT Grand Peaceful Wildflowers stamp set – Watercolour is definitely my most favourite painting medium!! I heat embossed the flowers from the set on cold press watercolour paper panel in white, then loosely coloured around the flowers with Distress inks using a wet paint brush. Next, I heat embossed the sentiment from the MFT Delicate Pretty Poppies set on black card stock in white, then cut the small banner. Once the watercoloured panel was dry, I mounted the panel on an A2 sized white card base using double-sided tape first, and then added the sentiment banner using dimensional foam tape.

SSS Masterpiece Box – Jump For Joy

Hello crafty friends, TGIF!
Today I want to share with you a card that I’ve made using so delightful Lawn Fawn Jump For Joy stamp set in the SSS Masterpiece Box.LawnFawn-JumpForJoy
Here is what I came up with:
YoonsunHur-20160722-SSS-001To start, I stamped the scene, as you can see in the picture, on an A2 sized watercolour paper panel in VersaFine Pigment Ink Onyx Black – I used post-it notes to mask stamped leaves. I then watercoloured them with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor using a waterbrush. I stamped the owl from the set on a separate watercolour paper in black, coloured it with the same Gansai Tambi Watercolor, die cut it with the matching die. I mounted the watercoloured panel on white card base using double-sided tape first, and then added the white heat embossed sentiment banner and owl die cut on the card front using Scrapbook Adhesives 3L Black 3D Foam Squares.
YoonsunHur-20160722-SSS-002I hope someone or something makes you want to jump for joy today!!

Thank you so much for stopping by.

SSS Handwritten Floral Greetings

Hello crafty friends, TGIF!
Today I want to share with you a couple of my leaf wreath card using so beautiful Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Floral Greetings stamp set.
YoonsunHur-20160715-SSS-BothSSS-HandwrittenFloralGreetingsFor today’s cards, I made my own leaf wreath with the outlined leaf stamp in the set.
SSS-20160715-P01To start, I placed a circle die on an A2 sized watercolour paper panel, then traced a circle very lightly with a pencil (or mechanical pencil).
SSS-20160715-P02Next, I stamped the leaf from the Handwritten Floral Greetings set along the circle line using Antique Linen Distress ink.
SSS-20160715-P03I then basically coloured them with Distress markers and water brush.
YoonsunHur-20160715-SSS-A001I added more colours and more water! Because I wanted to have a more subtle watercolour effect!! I ripped out the bottom of the panel, inked the edges of it with Crushed Olive Distress ink using mini ink blending tool. I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black. Finally, I mounted it on an A2 top folded kraft card base using dimensional foam tape.
YoonsunHur-20160715-SSS-A002
YoonsunHur-20160715-SSS-B001Here is another card with the same design on kraft base. I stamped the leaf along the circle line using white pigment ink first, and then coloured them with white acrylic paint using a paint brush (without water). Once the panel was dry, I stamped the same leaf onto the same place in black pigment ink again, then added Perfect Pearls Mist and opaque white ink splatters. Like my first card, I ripped out the top & bottom of the panel, inked the edges of it with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I mounted the panel on kraft card base using dimensional foam tape, then embellished with a few 4mm PPP gold sequins – I love white on kraft!!

Stamp of Approval Lovely Notes Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends! I’m so excited to be a part of the Stamp of Approval Lovely Notes Collection Blog Hop today!
SOA-BlogHop-BannerStamp of Approval is a collection of products (stamps and dies) that work fabulously together, but they’ll also work incredibly well with supplies you already own. They are released quarterly and sell out quickly (the last one sold out in 33 hours!).

Today I have three cards for you featuring the Butterfly Notes, Lovely Flowers, Handpainted Thanks, and Wonderful Wreath stamp sets.YoonsunHur-20160712-SOA-A001For my first card, I created a watercolour butterfly card with the Butterfly Notes stamp set – it is one of my favourites in the Lovely Notes Collection. First I stamped the large sized butterfly from the Butterfly Notes set on an A2 sized cold press watercolour paper panel with Distress inks: (from the top) Dried Marigold, Tumbled Glass, Victorian Velvet. I then added more colours to each butterfly with Distress inks using a wet paint brush:
Red butterfly: Festive Berries & Fired Brick
Blue butterfly: Twisted Citron & Mowed Lawn
Violet butterfly: Wild Honey & Mermaid Lagoon
I added some ink splatters around the butterflies. For the sentiment, I stamped them in black pigment ink. Finally, I mounted the watercolored panel on white card base using double-sided tape.
YoonsunHur-20160712-SOA-A002YoonsunHur-20160712-SOA-A003
YoonsunHur-20160712-SOA-B001For my second card, I used the Lovely Flowers and Handpainted Thanks (designed by Neat & Tangled) stamp sets. To start, I randomly stamped the flowers and leaves from the Lovely Flowers set on an A2 sized white paper panel with MFT hybrid inks using the Mini MISTI stamping tool. I then added some opaque white ink splatters over the stamped images. Next, I stamped the sentiments on the bottom left corner of the stamped panel using VersaFine Onyx Black – “thanks” from the (Neat & Tangled) Handpainted Thanks stamp set and “You Made My Day” from the Butterfly Notes set. Once the panel was dry, I mounted it on white card base using double-side tape, then added some clear droplets on the stamped flowers using Ranger Glossy Accents.
YoonsunHur-20160712-SOA-B002
YoonsunHur-20160712-SOA-C001For my last card, I used the Wonderful Wreath stamp set. To start, I created my own background with the musical notes – I stamped them on white paper panel in Altenew Evening Gray dye ink. For my focal panel, I die cut from watercolour paper using the banner die in the Lovely Flowers die set first, and then stamped the leaf wreath from the Wonderful Wreath set on it with Altenew Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades dye inks. I also prepared the birds, fruits, pine cones for decorating the wreath. I mounted all elements as shown to an A2 sized white card base using dimensional foam tape, then embellished with a few PPP clear sequins.
YoonsunHur-20160712-SOA-C002Hmm, it looks like a Christmas card, don’t you think? :D
