SSS Hop To It – Umbrella

Hello crafty friends!
Today, I want to share with you my cards with Simon Says Stamp newly released Hop To It products.

I love the rainbow after the rain… whenever I see the rainbow, I feel very grateful. So, I named my first card ‘Rainbow umbrella’.
YoonsunHur-20150303-SSS01
For this card, I used Umbrella Shaker Die as my main supply. My original plan was to make shaker card but I changed my mind because I wanted to show these pretty rainbow colours without shaking lol!

1)I die cut umbrella from white cardstock and put double sided sticky tape backside of the white panel. 2)I gently affixed 4mm sequins in rainbow order -Pretty Pink Posh Fresh Mint, Aquamarine, Lemon Drop, Pumpkin– along with shape of umbrella. 3)I then put umbrella die cut over the sequins. 4)For the sentiment, I stamped ‘HAPPY SPRING!’ from Abby’s Spring Showers Stamp Set using VersaFine Onyx Black and heat embossed it in clear. 5) Sparkly clear sequins, blue diagonal stripe washi tape, white & blue twine were the finishing touches.

My second card is watercolour card with Abby’s Spring Showers Stamp Set.
YoonsunHur-20150303-SSS02
As many of my crafty friends already know, I love making watercolour cards!! And I want to learn and practice the different ways.

For this card, 1)I stamped bunny and umbrella in one layer on the watercolour paper using Distress Ink Peacock Feathers and coloured not the bunny and umbrella but the open areas around the stamped images with only one colour -Distress Ink Peacock Feathers– using wide paint brush & detailer waterbrush. 2)I stamped raindrops using Distress Ink Peacock Feathers, Broken China and gently blended with fresh water and then stamped sentiments, outlined hearts here and there. 3)Stitches on top of the panel, some clear sequins were the finishing touches.

hoptoithop

Hello crafty friends! Wow! just wow! I’m SO honoured to be joining Simon Says Stamp Hop To It Release Blog Hop. Full of amazing stamps and dies are perfect for making Spring themed and Easter projects!! One word. Extraordinary designs!!

20150220-SSS-HopToIt01For my first card, I used Abby’s Spring Showers Stamp Set. All images are so darling, this set is definitely one of my favourite one among new released products.

1) I stamped bunny, flowerpot, umbrella in one layer on the watercolour paper panel using VersaFine Pigment Ink Onyx Black. I used sticky note to mask the bunny image to stamp it overlapping. 2) Once dry, I coloured stamped images with Distress Markers. 3) For umbrella, I paper pieced with patterned papers. 4) For the sentiments, I stamped them with VersaFine Pigment Ink Onyx Black and heat embossed them in clear. 5) To finish it off, I stitiched the left side of the watercolour panel and also under the bunny image and added some clear sequins.

20150220-SSS-HopToIt02“Rain, rain go away~ HAPPY SPRING!!” Yes, spring is definitely in the air!!

20150220-SSS-HopToIt03I also used Abby’s Spring Showers Stamp Set for my second card. I made no-line watercolour background card with adorable bear!!!

1) For my no-line watercolour background: I die cut to the watercolour paper using Simon Says Stamp Stitches Rectangles Die -larest one- and I stamped the bear and outlined heart stamps using Distress Ink Antique Linen. -Distress ink reacts with water, which makes it easily to give an illusion that the images wasn’t even stamped after you’ve after coloured it- and then coloured them with Distress Markers. 2) I made small circle window to the bottom side of the watercolour panel using Simon Says Stamp Stitches Circles Die for putting bear into it. 3) I stamped the bear using VersaFine Pigment Ink Onyx Black and then coloured with Distress Markers. 4) To finish it off, I tied the twine and added some 4mm clear sequins.

20150220-SSS-HopToIt04
20150220-SSS-HopToIt05My last card for the hop that I made with another awesome stamp set called ‘Work Out‘. When I saw this image, I couldn’t resist Copic colouring. 1) I stamped the girl with Memento Dye Ink Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copic markers and then cut it using matching die. 2) For the background, I made my own sun rays with Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade using sponge dauber. 3) I cut ‘Way to go!’ word die 6 times and affixed all pieces together -I wanted to make thicker like chipboard. 4) I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Pigment Ink Onyx Black and heat embossed it in clear. 5) Sparkly clear sequins were the finishing touches.

TCC #28 – Romantic Roses

Happy Wednesday everyone! Here we are again with a new challenge at The Card Concept!
TCC-IP28Here is an inspirational picture. What a beautiful bunch of flowers!

Here is what I came up with:
20150204-TCC-01Butterflies came into my mind when I saw those beautiful flowers!

During this year, I will show you many of my watercolour cards as a member of the mixed media category. I believe many crafty friends love watercolour cards right?! :D

To create this card, I chose Simon Says Stamp Friendship Butterflies Stamp Set as my main stamp set. At first, I picked neutral colours from my distress ink stash -Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Milled Lavender, Victorian Velvet, Pumice Stone, and Spun Sugar. I then stamped butterfly onto the watercolour panel and blended with water using waterbrush. I dry the stamped images quickly using heat tool and added sparkle using Zig Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Clear. For my own wood grain paper panel at the bottom, I sponged on the watercolour paper with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and drew timber annual ring using Distress Marker Vintage Photo.
