Tropical Leaf Card

Hello crafty friends!
Today I want to share with you my tropical leaf card with Altenew Hibiscus Garden 3D die set. I just used leaf dies in the set.

I die cut large leaves from watercolour paper first, then ink blended leaf die cuts with green & blue distress inks. I ink blended the leaf of top-left corner using Bundled Sage & Tea Dye distress inks. For large tropical leaves, I ink blended it with Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers and a bit of Pine Needles distress inks. As you know, distress ink reacts with water so, I lightly brushed over the ink with a water brush to lift some of the colour, giving the leaves a watercolour look. I mounted all leaves onto a white card base using foam tape, and then green ink splattered & opaque white ink splattered all over the leafy panel.

For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment on a stitched circle panel using Walnut Stain distress ink, then heat embossed the edge of sentiment circle panel with gold. I also decorated around the leaves with PPP 4mm Clear Droplets.

Here in Sydney, Australia, we’re in the midst of autumn heading into winter, but since most countries are entering late spring and approaching summer, I made a card with a refreshing tropical vibe. :D

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Peony Dream

Hello crafty friends!
Today I want to share with you a couple of my floral cards with Altenew Peony Dream 3D die set. I have several Altenew layering flower die sets, and without a doubt, they are all truly amazing!

For the first card, I made a watercolour floral card with the Peony Dream die set. I die cut all pieces from watercolour paper first, assembled flowers & leaves using fine tip glue pen. Set aside the assembled flowers and leaves for a moment before watercolouring, I dry embossed a A2 paper panel using SSS Lumen embossing folder, then lightly ink blended it with Scattered Straw & Bundled Sage distress inks. I added same coloured ink splatters as well.

Watercolouring time!! Of course, I have other watercolour supplies, but when I make cards, I habitually use distress inks or reinkers. For this peonies, I used Tattered Rose, Barn Door, Vintage Photo and Scattered Straw for petals, Bundled Sage and Mowed Lawn for leaves. I didn’t forget to add clear droplets on the card – Pretty Pink Posh 4mm clear droplets are also an essential in my floral cards. When I place these clear droplets on the flowers, it feels as if the paper flowers might come to life like real ones. :D

Here is another floral card with Peony Dream die set.

I made five petals and four leaves using coloured cardstock. I die cut the pieces and assembled them using fine tip glue pen. And then, decorated all petals & leaves around the sentiment banner. I used Neenah Smooth Desert Storm cardstock as my card base.

“GOD understands our prayers even when we can’t put them into words.” – isn’t it beautiful? When my heart is so heavy that I can’t even say, this phrase is truly comforting.

Praying for Ukraine

Hello crafty friends!
I’ve been thinking about Yana all weekend.. how afraid would she be now.. how sad would it be.. how painful would it be.. I kept praying for Yana, her families and her country, Ukraine – all the card makers around the world would have been the same as me. So I made a “Thinking of You” card with my prayers and love.

I used blue and yellow coloured cardstock. The reason is because we all know well. I dry embossed to an A2 sized panel using beautiful Roseville Bouquet embossing folder, and then added the “Thinking of You” sentiment & butterflies.

Please visit Yana’s blog. We can know how we can support Ukraine!!

NO WAR PLEASE!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a peaceful day!

Keep smiling and be blessed! God bless you all!

Floral Friday: SSS Chinese Lantern Stem

Hello crafty friends!
Today I have an encouragement card with SSS Chinese Lantern Stem die. The Chinese Lantern Stem is recently released from Simon Says Stamp Good Luck Charm. It’s very popular!!

Simon Says Stamp Chinese Lantern Stem Die

Chinese Lantern flower means safety, comfort and protection so I decided to make an encouragement card with it. :D

At first I die cut the Chinese Lantern Stem from watercolour paper. I then coloured all die cuts with Distress inks:
Flowers: Dried Marigold & Spiced Marmalade
Leaves and stems: Bundled Sage & Peeled Paint.
Next, I dry embossed an A2 sized watercolour paper panel using the Crystal Distortion embossing folder, applied Dried Marigold Distress ink to the panel, and then made a square window on the top left part of the panel.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the CZ Design Clean Line Stacks set onto watercolour paper in white, inked onto it with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink. I then adhered the sentiment panel to the back of the background panel.

I mounted the background panel and the Chinese Lantern Stems on the card as shown in the picture, and then decorated the card with tiny butterflies & 4mm clear droplets. :D

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

Keep smiling and be blessed! God bless you all!

SSS Remembering you in my prayers

Hello crafty friends! Hope your day is filled with lots of joy and happiness.
Today I have a watercoloured encouragement card with the SSS Blossoming Stamp Set. I played with a recently released set!
I die cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ rectangle panel from watercolour paper using the Basic Rectangles Die Set. I then cut the top part of this watercolour panel using the Wavy Scallop Stitches Die, inked up with Antique Linen Distress Ink.
I stamped a beautiful blossom tree from the Blossoming Set in VersaFine Onyx Black. I stamped little birdies around the tree as well. To colour the image I used Hero Arts Watercolor Wheel & Distress Markers with a fine paint brush. I also added lots of ink splatters.
Once the panel was dry, I mounted two panels, watercoloured & inked scallop, on white card base using double-sided tape first, and then added the white heat embossed sentiment using foam tape. To finish it off, I embellished with a few clear sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Keep smiling and be blessed! God bless you all!
