SSS Let’s Connect Release Blog Hop – Day 2

Hello, hello crafty friends!
Welcome to Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Let’s Connect Release Blog Hop. Oh, I’m so happy to be a part of this amazing blog hop! If you arrived here from super talented Heather Hoffman’s blog you are on the right track!

Are. You. Ready to enter the rainbow-coloured world? My cards will be full of rainbow colours today – just wanna say it “rainbowness.” Haha! :D
For my first card, I used the Rainbow Card die set along with the Unicorn Love stamp set. I think the Rainbow Card die set will be a BIG HIT!! I die cut rainbow & clouds from watercolour paper using the Rainbow Card die set, then applied SSS dye inks to each ray of the rainbow in order of rainbow colours:
(from the top red colour) Lipstick Red, Duckling, Green Apple, Audrey Blue and Deep Purple. I stamped a cute unicorn from the Unicorn Love set on white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink, coloured it with Copic markers.
I die cut the Detail Petal Plate from Neenah Smooth Desert Storm cardstock, then mounted it on the same Desert Storm card base using double-sided tape. I then added all elements as shown in the picture using foam tape.
I added many of bling-bling sequins & droplets on the rainbow rays!
It is another happy rainbow card on the rainbow shaped card base. I adhered the two clouds using foam tape first. I adhered the sun & other clouds to the back of the rainbow rays using double-sided tape, then adhered the rainbow rays in place.
Oh, I love it. It makes me so happy! I really wanna send you happy hugs!!

For my third cards, I used the Cosmos Bloom die along with Detail Petal Plate die.
I die cut several cosmos from watercolour paper using the Cosmos Bloom die first, then applied rainbow coloured Distress inks to them using Blender Brushes:
(Red) Festive Berries & Fired Brick
(Yellow) Fossilized Amber & Tea Dye
(Green) Crushed Olive & Evergreen Bough
(Blue) Mermaid Lagoon & Faded Jeans
(Purple) Seedless Preserves & Fired Brick
I made a bouquet using rainbow coloured Cosmos Bloom & Eucalyptus Leaves die cuts, and then adhered on the centre of the Detail Petal Plate base using foam tape. I added stamens on the centre of each flower using PPP seed beads.
Here is another rainbow floral card with the Cosmos Bloom die. I adhered flower die cuts on watercolour paper panel, then blended the floral panel with Distress inks. I then washed the colours using a wet paint brush, added opaque white & metallic silver ink splatters all around the panel. I die cut the Detail Meadow Butterfly from ivory cardstock.
The sentiment, I used it in the Sentiment Strips Thinking of You.

  1. Fascinating, colorful, and interestingly dimensional cards. I absolutely love the Detail Petal Plate Wafer Die in the background. And you have use all of the other dies and stamps from the collection with so much fun color and the addition of just a few tiny embellishments has really taken these cards to the next level. They are absolutely brilliant! Thank you for the inspiration!

  2. You’ve shared a lovely range of cards with these supplies. Rainbows are always so cheerful, and you’ve showcased them beautifully. The Detail Petal is such an exquisite background, thanks for the inspiration.

  3. Love your cards, especially the colors. You have convinced me to get the cosmo bloom die. Love the beads that were used to attached. Thanks so much for sharing.
